This is a great product - I have a regular grill and a Big Green Egg, and it makes a great addition on both. I'm buying my second one today - I'll use one on my regular grill, and the other (that I don't mind getting drippings on) for the Big Green Egg. I've had the first pouch for almost a year, and it's still in good shape. The stainless steel seems to last and doesn't rust. If you put it below food, it does accumulate drippings and it gets stopped up, so if you're going to use it under food, you should be sure to keep the same side up all the time. Then the smoke will come out of the side facing the fire, and the smoke will probably last a little longer because it is getting less oxygen that way. Here's how I use it:BIG GREEN EGG - When I use my Egg, I put large chucks of smoking wood directly on the coal, and then I put the ceramic base over the coals. I put the pouch on the ceramic base, with part of it over the edge so that it gets more heat from the fire, and part under the food as mentioned above. The main chunks of wood directly on the coals (below the ceramic piece) smoke for about an hour, and by then, the smoker pouch starts smoking. The way I use it, it seems to last for a long time, and it never catches on fire. It provides a nice, steady smoke, and the food is noticeably more smoky that without it. The results of smoking are much more consistent with this pouch. It's a nightmare to try to add smoking wood to the fire on this type of smoker, so the pouch is really useful. Sometimes I'll cap off the fire when I'm finished, and I will find that there is wood left in the pouch so I can use it again.WEBER S330 - I have a Weber stainless steel mid-sized grill, and I've found that the pouch can be very effective on that, too. When you preheat the grill, simply place the filled pouch over a burner, and let it heat up until it smokes. Then you can put it on and end burner at low temperature to keep it going while you cook a steak on the center or on the other side of the grill. I think it could actually be effective smoking a Boston butt on the Weber, but I haven't tried it because I use the Egg for that.I've used smoker boxes, foil with holes punch in it, and other methods, and it seems that the wood always catches on fire and burns out long before it's used up. You have to watch for that here, too, but once you learn to use it, you learn to easily avoid burnout. It is a great addition to your outdoor smoking equipment and I highly recommend it to those who enjoy outdoor smoking,
