I bought these for the purpose of reaching into my deep washing machine to pick up pieces of laundry. The tongs are perfect for that and they hang on the wall easily on a small nail. Probably great for cooking too! Quality of tongs are super. Would buy again.Effective kitchen tool.Better than my Kitchen Aid ones, and a better price.Use them all the time. Reordered go have more.We have a top load washer and needed something to get to the bottom of the tub. The other tongs we had were flimsy whereas these are much sturdier. They work well to get clothes our of the tub and the nylon tips don't snag the clothes. Really enjoy this product.Tired of non-stick pans getting scratched up, this will definitely help. The tong ends are thick silicon tips, not metal with some thing coating on it, so I'm confident that they will do no damage to my pans. The little stands are a very handy feature (one of the reasons I bought these tongs), and they are very sturdy, probably 3/16" thick, and solidly attached to the tongs arms so you can count on them. The lock to lock the tongs closed before putting in the drawer work very well, much better than most tongs I've had in the past.Only downside to me, I wish that the tong-ends had one side flat, instead of being "scalloped" on both sides. That would make them better for getting everything out of the pan when dealing with stir-fries with smaller vegetables, etc.The main reason I purchased these are the little feet they have on them. Those do their job quite well. It's completely beyond me why every single pair of tongs doesn't have them.Things I don't like about these tongs is that their fully open position isn't quite wide enough for all applications, there is a little bit too much resistance when squeezing them, and when they are in the closed position, they close ALL the way. I like my tongs to have a small gap when "closed" so I can hang them over the edge of my spoon, spatula, and tong holder (a cylindrical vase).Aside from my first complaint, I think the other two points are fully a matter of opinion, so I'm not docking these bad boys more than one star. They seem solidly built and have held up to some pretty high heat cooking in both my cast iron and stainless steel pans. I hate the idea of having separate tongs for nonstick and regular pans, so I just want a sturdy pair of silicone tipped ones that can manage it all. After a little less than a month of regular use, they're holding up.Tongs did not come with the black rubber on the ends.. my wife was disappointed, that's the reason she wanted this brand. The pictures show black rubber on the ends.I like the fact that they have something to prop them up with so they don't mess up your counter top, or you can stand them on the edge of the frying pan. That's a useful feature that I haven't seen before. My only gripe with them, and the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5, is that they don't open as far as I'd like. I had to force them open in the first place, and as I didn't want to break them, and didn't know how far they would open, I may not have opened them as far as they will go. I've only really used the larger set so far, as the smaller is more limited in its uses. I would have just bought the larger, but the set was on offer with a set of oven gloves.I love these Tong’s, they are probably the best I’ve ever used, mainly because they are well designed and functional. That may sound silly but these have really been thought about in the design and manufacture. The tongs have small stands that keep the tips off of the work surface when you put them down, this prevents mess, also the tips are silicone and are much more friendly to cookware, as no scratching.I love the secure closing pulley, this keeps the tongs in the closed position when not in use, so great when in the drawer.A really good set of tongs and with two sizes, you have the best of both worlds when cooking in the kitchen or on the BBQ ?Thanks to Geekhom for the 'Built in Obselesence', or rather 'built to fail'. Two pairs of tongs, less than two years old, and I had to repair them both myself today, because the were built to rapidly wear out (weak rivet joint). Stuff like this keeps your profits renewable, but hurts the environment and annoys the customer. So, I bought these about 9 months ago and was amazed at how well made they were..... Or so I thought, I use these tongs about twice a week and now they have broken.... The joint/pin where they are spring loaded has come apart and they no longer work...... Its such a shame because I did love them until now,.... THERE ARE NOT DURABLE, I expected for the price and how little I use them to have lasted a lot longer.Love these tongs, they are great quality and the looking mechanism works well (took a little while to play with it to figure out how it unlocks are there are no instructions) but they are lovely. Well worth the money.
