First, the oversized 1.0" LCD readout displays the temperature boldly and clearly down to the tenth of a degree. Other features include an ultra-thin thermometer tip, handy pocket/storage sleeve that can also be used as a handle extension, and an F/C conversion switch. Combined with a temperature range that reaches a high 482 degrees farenheit, this thermometer will become one of the most useful precision tools in the kitchen. Helpful hints: digital thermometers are not meant to be left in food during cooking. The plastic and electronic components could be damaged with excessive heat. Important: thermometer will be hot after use. Use potholders or oven mitts when handling hot thermometer.

The product has an accurate temperature reading, convenient size, and is easy to use, so it works fine. The thermometer turns on and is ready to use pretty quickly, but as you wait for the temp reading, the bright backlight changes to a dim backlight and is hard for me to read. A second tap to the button is necessary. It doesn't sound like much, but when you have a hot item in a toaster oven and need to move your hands around a small space or have a hot pan splattering oil a bit, prepare for a hot sting. From this perspective, I prefer my OXO lollipop-style thermometer.
