This may be the case for this design in general and not necessarily just this brand, but grilling area of the pan does not seem to get hot enough. I used the hottest burner on my gas stove and the upper part of the domed area wasn't hot enough to brown the meat. It cooked the meat, but did not brown it which is disappointing. Once we were done, it was also difficult to clean and took a lot of elbow grease to get the char off.
