The new cover really adds some nice looking flare to my 98 Shadow. So the fit, initially I mounted the new part directly to the radiator, removing the OEM plastic guard. Installing it in this manner it is a direct bolt on. However, while looking at this beautiful piece, with the plastic guard removed, it exposed the sides of the radiator. So removed it and mounted it to the plastic guard to reinstall. Now it would not fit correctly. The bolt at the bottom of the new part matched up perfectly with the stock piece. The top tabs that the guard drops on couldn't be reached with the plastic guard under the chrome. My fix was to use small black zip ties to attach it to the OEM guard and bolted at the bottom. Going forward I will replace the zip ties with silver lockwire. This works for me and absolutely love the new cover.
