It's just what I wanted! I had one just like this that lasted 12 years. After each use I shook off anything on it, then folded it and put it on the side of the grill and covered it under the grill cover. Prior to buying the first one, when I used my grill, grease would drip out onto my wooden deck and stain it. The mat saved my deck!Funny story, not. Bought this to prevent another deck fire from our clay oven.. didn’t work whatsoever. The first Fire we had, a cigarette butt burnt right through it!!!! There were holes all over it from even just small pieces of burnt cardboard falling out. No way this thing should even remotely be considered fire proof, resistant, etc. I’m actually not even sure what purpose it could ever serve? A rug? It’s actually to thin and cheap to be a rug. You’d try to wipe your shoes on it and tear it in half. It’s got this thin layer of shiny material; can’t even think of what to call it? Almost like cellophane texture. And the top is a very thin piece of outdoor carpet/felt. Honest. Not trying to defame by any means. On a scale of flammable to fire retardant: it’s definitely more of a fire hazard than fire safety!No used yetVery flimsy and lightweight, the wind will blow the edges up so you have to keep something on top of it.Love it, its greatGreat productCrappy product. "Heat resistant, fire proof" description is a complete lie. Drops of hot charcoal (or even simply the hot ashes) were enough to burn holes in it, also burning the turf below...
